ACC Rankings – October 31

Tier I

1. Virginia Tech
Impressive again in BC victory; showdown this week with Miami
2. Miami
Were they already preparing for VT in a lackluster first half against UNC?
3. FSU
Came from behind to beat inferior Maryland team at home.

Tier II
4. Boston College
Hopes of ACC title died in Blacksburg.
5. Georgia Tech
Defense stepped up once again in ugly, 10-9 win over Clemson

Tier III
6. UNC
Collapsed against Miami in second half
7. Virginia
Off week; have three best teams in their division in last four games
8. Clemson
Needs to win 2 out of 3 against Duke, FSU, and S. Carolina to go to a bowl
9. Maryland
Missed a great opportunity in Tallahassee

Tier IV
10. Wake Forest
Rolled over Duke 44-6. Great opportunity playing at GT this week.
11. NC State
Had to come from behind to beat So. Miss at home 21-17

Tier V
12. Duke
Still waiting for their first ACC win of the season.

SEC Rankings – October 31

Tier I

1. Alabama
Only undefeated SEC team left; fans crossing their fingers that Brodie Croyle stays healthy.

Tier II
2. LSU
Another warmup this week vs App. St. before showdown with Crimson Tide.
3. Georgia
With a win over Auburn and Kentucky can still clinch SEC East.
4. Florida
Had the ball bounce their way this week vs UGA. Home date with Vandy next.
5. Auburn
Wild card in SEC West. Actually hoping for Alabama to beat LSU…hard to believe.

Tier III
6. South Carolina
Spurrier he still has the playbook to compete with lesser talent
7. Tennessee
Things went from bad to worse in Knoxville in loss to Gamecocks

Tier IV
8. Vanderbilt
Still clinging to bowl hopes, but Florida and Tennessee still remain

Tier V
9. Ole Miss
First season under Ogeron not going as planned
10. Arkansas
Freshman RB Darren McFadden the bright spot for the Hogs
11. Kentucky
Rich Brooks under a lot of fire in Lexington
12. Miss St
Sylvester Croom having a tough go in second year in SEC
