Virginia Tech and Maryland square-off for the second straight
year in ESPN’s Thursday night football...the Hokies have won two straight
in the series with both victories coming in Blacksburg, while Maryland has
won nine of the last 12...this is only the second meeting between the two teams
in the last 12 years ...in 23 of the 27 meetings, the losing team has been held to
nine points or less...Virginia Tech is looking to go 7-0 for the first time since
2002 when the Hokies started 8-0...Maryland as won three straight -
its longest streak since winning five in a row to close the 2003 season...
Virginia Tech has allowed just one TD in the last 11 quarters of ACC play...
the Terps have recorded two straight 200+ yard rushing games.

Last year, Virginia Tech posted a 55-6 victory outrushing the Terrapins
239 to 56 in Blacksburg...the Hokies used four first half turnovers to take a 41-
3 halftime lead...Cedric Humes led all rushers with 85 yards, while Mike Imoh
tallied a pair of rushing TDs...the Terps’ Sam Hollenbach went 5-for-8 for 53 yards.
