Virginia Tech - Miami Halftime Analysis

VT has only 52 yards of total offense in this game—minus 11 passing
  • Despite injuries to Kyle Wright, Tyrone Moss, and Devin Hester, Miami has been able to move the ball on VT
  • Marcus Vick looks confused by the Miami defense—Vick has accounted for two turnovers and is 1-10
  • Miami secondary is shutting down VT’s receivers
  • Hurricanes backup QB Kirby Freeman looks good in the pocket and is out performing Vick
  • Moss is out for Miami, WR Eddie Royal is out for VT; wait and see on Wright and Hester

What Miami has to do to maintain the lead:

  • Keep the running game going
  • Cover VT’s receivers like they did in the first half
  • Protect their QB’s
  • Not allow VT to have a big, game-changing play on defense and special teams that we have become accustomed to

What VT has to do to win this game:

  • Get the running game going
  • Vick must settle down in the pocketif the throw is not there, tuck and run it
  • Have a big specials teams or defensive play
  • Stuff the Miami running game
