SEC Basketball Roundup

Another game, another 30+ point victory. It appears Florida is rounding into form after a few non-conference losses where they were favored. If this Gator team comes to play every night 100%, there are very few teams who can beat them in the country.

The Wildcats are very quietly off to a 3-0 start in the SEC. I think Kentucky is just fine with being the underdog this year behind the Florida juggernaut. However, Tubby Smith's club is not as talented as some of the better teams in recent Kentucky history. First road test of the year comes at South Carolina on Tuesday against a Gamecock team noted for jumping as a big underdog.

The Vols are not sneaking up on teams like they did last year, but the Vols are still very competitive in what has been a difficult schedule so far this season. They will have to rebound from two heart breaking losses at Vanderbilt and Ohio State.

The Bulldogs easy victory over South Carolina was unexpected, but it also shows the improvement this team has made in its third year under Dennis Felton. Many of the key players are Juniors and Seniors, which comes in very handy on the road and in late game situations.

The Crimson Tide scored a very important win over LSU last Tuesday. The Tide and Tigers will likely battle all season for the West Division title. Jermario Davidson is a force in the middle while Richard Gee is a bonafide go to scorer. Tide travel to Vanderbilt in a game that can go either way, but would be a great road win against a quality SEC team.

LSU escaped against Auburn on Saturday in a game that was much closer than expected. The Tigers scored an important non conference win over UConn over a week ago.
