Musings Around the SEC and ACC After Saturday

I don’t know what to say about Phil Fulmer and Tennessee. The guy has won a national title and went to the SEC Championship Game last season. But the level of the program has definitely dropped over the last five seasons. It seems when Tennessee has good seasons as of late it is because of “luck”.

Oh, Auburn. Things come full circle for Tommy Tuberville who loses at Ole Miss – the program he left for Auburn. If you ever listen to the Paul Finebaum show – and you should because the callers provide great laughs – you will know things are spinning on the Plains.

Good for Arkansas. They started off the season very sloooow, but have turned it around as of late. Conference USA can got sit back down as arguably their best team just lost to a bottom third SEC team.

I saw the Miami-Virginia line where UVA was favored by only 1 point…it seemed very fishy. Why would the Cavs be just a 1 point favorite after ripping off four straight wins? I stayed away from that one and it turns out the pros were right on this one.

Randy Shannon is another guy who has turned his teams’ season around. The Hurricanes are also right in thick of the ACC race with games against Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and NC State remaining.

Clemson gets rid of Tommy Bowden and they get rid of that monkey called Boston College off their back. This win will help Dabo Swinney’s chances, but I think the Tigers go for a guy with head coaching experience.

A review of Georgia Tech-FSU and Florida-Georgia forthcoming.

Last Week: 0-4 ATS, 1-3 SU
Season: 23-13-2 ATS, 24-14 SU
