ACC is in the spotlight this week with a battle of the Techs. But lets take a look around the rest of the conference as the division races start to take shape (I hope).
Wake Forest at Clemson
The Deacons are a big reason why Tommy Bowden is no longer coaching in Death Valley. Can they kill another Tiger club with a struggling Dabo Swinney at the helm? Clemson's problem (one of them) in the past has been not getting CJ Spiller enough touches but that is not a problem this year. The Tigers have had a bye week to regroup and I think they do.
Clemson 27 Wake Forest 21
NC State at Boston College
Tom O'Brien hopes the third try against his old team is the charm. NC State's rush defense is very good giving up just 65 ypg. Both teams did not play very well last week with BC losing to VT and State losing to Duke. The loss to VT is a little more explainable than a 21 points home loss to the Blue Devils.
Boston College 28 NC State 23
Virginia at Maryland
For a while this game looked like it might be between the two worst ACC teams ever, but things have changed and the Cavaliers are a road favorite in College Park! The Terps defense is pretty porous against the run giving up over 170 ypg on the ground. Since their bye week UVA has played much better on offense. Al Groh is going to make it that much more frustrating with a third straight win.
Virginia 30 Maryland 28
Miami at Central Florida
The Hurricanes proved last week they are not going to over look lesser opponents. Unless they get off at the exit for Tampa thinking South Florida I think they win comfortably over Central Florida.
