SEC Gaining Momentum Towards Selection Sunday

Miss State prefers to take matters into their own hands come Tournament time

We all expected Kentucky to be here. Miss State maybe not as much, but the Bulldogs are taking matters into their own hands for the second straight year.

The latest projections have Miss State in what would seem regardless of their performance tomorrow considering the Wildcats are heavy favorites.

A poor out of conference schedule has Rick Stansbury's club in their fragile position, but Miss State won the West and has made another SEC Tournament run. Two wins over rival Ole Miss are also what may start the party in Starkville and end it in Oxford.

The SEC has suffered in recent years in the Selection Committee's eyes, but that seems to be turning some this year.

Kentucky is a lock for a number one seed and their East counterparts Tennessee and Vanderbilt are projected as 4 and 6 seeds. This is a far cry from the hand dealt to the top teams last year.

And hopefully for SEC fans it is a new beginning in the NCAA Tournament.
