Georgia takes on the fifth ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Athens on Wednesday. Ga. Tech won the first meeting of the season 6-5 back in March. The Bulldogs lead the all time series 196-150-2.
But it wouldn't be Clean, Old Fashioned Hate if there wasn't some discrepancy in the records. Georgia's athletic website says the Bulldogs lead the "all-time series with Tech 110-91 in records dating back to 1950"
Georgia is having a disappointing season at 11-21, but a win over a top five club and in state rival would cure some ills. Tech is hoping to rebound after their first series loss of the season to ACC leader Virginia.
Mark Pope (4-0, 4.05 ERA) is expected to start for the Jackets while David Perno is expected to send out Junior Eric Swegman (0-2, 13.50 ERA).
The two will meet one more time this season at Turner Field on Tuesday, April 27.
