All Of A Sudden Georgia Is Right Back In The SEC East Race

The Georgia Bulldogs were a trendy dark horse pick to win the SEC East before the season, but after an 0-3 start in conference play it looked like UGA had two chances of winning the East: slim and none.

Suddenly after two straight convincing wins and losses by Florida and South Carolina, the Bulldogs are tied for second place and just one game back in the loss column.

UGA plays at Kentucky next week in a pivotal game. The Wildcats will be coming off an emotional high after a come from behind win over East leader South Carolina.

Georgia lost to Kentucky in Athens, arguably the low point of the disappointing season. Now the Bulldogs have a chance at revenge and could then bring a three game winning streak into Jacksonville against the stumbling Gators. And I have not seen anything from Florida this season that doesn't make me think they couldn't lose a fourth straight game at the WLOCP.

South Carolina still has to play Florida and Arkansas as well as Tennessee and Vanderbilt. It sure looked like the Chicken Curse was alive and well against Kentucky Saturday night.

Yes, Georgia is only 3-4, but I would have to think many fans would be happy with any season with wins over the big four rivals of Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, and Georgia Tech.

After the last two week's performances, all of those games are winnable. And who knows maybe UGA happens to sneak into Atlanta after all.
