UGA, Georgia Tech Basketball Target Jelan Kendrick Suspended From Memphis

2009's top prospect in the state of Georgia, Jelan Kendrick, has been suspended indefinitely from the Memphis basketball program stemming from an altercation with a teammate.

According to CBS Sports, this is not the first incident with Kendrick who reportedly has gotten into several fights with his new Tiger teammates before his first season.

Both Georgia and Georgia Tech offered the Wheeler High School product according to Scout and Rivals, but the McDonald's All-American left the state to play for Josh Pastner at Memphis.

Both programs have been criticized for not keeping the top talent in state, but missing out on Kendrick does not look like a big loss right now.

The state has seven four or five star prospects for 2007 according to Scout with UGA and Tech gaining one commitment each. Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama, and Virginia also have one each. Dai-Jon Parker is considering multiple schools including UGA.
