Miami Makes Great Hire In Al Golden

The Miami Hurricanes have hired Temple's Al Golden according to the 'Canes official website.

Golden is an unsung hero in the college football world lifting a lifeless Temple program to 17 wins in the last two seasons.

When Golden arrived in Philadelphia, he took over a football program without a conference and without an identity.  Temple had been kicked out of the Big East a few years back and was arguably the worst team in FBS.

Despite all the obstacles, Golden brought the program back to respectability by recruiting the fertile and largely untapped area around Philadelphia.  Temple football became somewhat relevant again in a major city dominated by pro football. 

This kind of local focus will be important in Golden's new job.
