This past Friday on 790 The Zone's Barnhart and Durham.
Towers talks about his night in Valdosta covering Malcolm Mitchell's announcement to UGA in the local Hibachi grill.
He also discusses Tech's class with some nice words about "filling holes". Most Yellow Jackets fans are disappointed in the lack of star power and immediate impact guys in this class, but I have never heard a reporter covering recruiting having anything negative to say about a program's class. Maybe Towers is right about Tech, maybe he is not. We won't know for three to four years.

If Tech doesn't land Darian Cooper, then you have to consider their class only slightly above average. OUt of 23 committs at least 10 are what I'd consider reaches.
ReplyDeleteThis class is a disappointment for Tech fans and the staff. Not because it is any lower than other recent Tech class, but because the staff was aiming much higher going after many highly rated kids trying to use the ACC title as a selling point (Nick Marshall, James Vaughters, AJ Johnson as examples), but largely struck out.
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to reach you would like to see it on the line of scrimmage.
I have yet to hear a coach say they have too much depth on the offensive/defensive line.
