First SEC basketball rankings of the season submitted to the SEC Power Poll. This ranking is a compilation of the season thus far. Future rankings will be more of balance between week to week and seasons total.
This Calipari team is nowhere near as talented as last year's but still looks to be the best in the SEC in the long run this season.
Commodores fail to take next step towards becoming a great team. They have to learn to win on the road more.
Florida is 12-3 and everyone seems to care much more about who Will Muschamp will hire as his assistants.
Mark Fox is building something in Athens and could be even better next year with NBA lockout likely bringing Trey Thompkins back.
This Volunteer team is a sports psychologists dream.
6. Ole Miss
The Rebels are sneaky good in the West this year.
Tide have a chance to be the best in a very down SEC West.
Razorbacks get a good win for the West over East power Tennessee. West wins may be at a premium this year.
9. South Carolina
A huge win for the Gamecocks coming from behind and beating Vandy. Have to hold serve at your court.
10. Miss State
The highlight of Miss State's season thus far is Renardo Sidney's fight in the stands with a teammate/roommate.
Trent Johnson left Stanford for this?
There is no bigger difference in a football program and basketball program in the country right now than at Auburn.
And here are the results from the Power Poll Members
How I cast my vote:
Right now just entering conference play and with the first poll, a lot more emphasis on the season as a whole.
As more conference games are played those take more weight with me.
Above all I try to do the "on a neutral court who wins" analysis.
