Will Duke Ever Lose? First ACC Basketball Rankings of the Season

First ACC basketball rankings of the season and as no surprise, Duke tops the list. This ranking is a compilation of the season thus far.  Future rankings will be more of balance between week to week and seasons total.

1. Duke
The Blue Devils not having Kyrie Irving is only fair to a down ACC at this point.

2. North Carolina
Tar Heels are certainly talented and playing better and more together as the season has gone on.

3. Maryland
Life after Greivis Vasquez isn't quite as bad as initially thought.

4. Boston CollegeSteve Donahue doing a very good for the most part in his first season.

5. Virginia Tech
Seth Greenberg has a good team, but not a great team. Looks like it will be another interesting Selection Sunday.

6. NC State
I have a feeling this might be as high as Sidney Lowe's team gets this year.

7. Clemson
Tigers have been under the radar this season after losing to Michigan early, but bounced back nicely and will be playing at least in the NIT.

8. Virginia
Cavaliers got a very nice road ACC win against Va Tech in December, but haven't done much since.

9. Florida State
How do you lose to Auburn? That loss alone drops 'Noles down a spot or two.

10. Miami
I wonder if Frank Haith will be back in 2011-2012?

11. Georgia Tech
Apathy is gaining strength in Atlanta judging by the attendance numbers at home games.

12. Wake Forest
The Demon Deacons are one of the worst BCS conference teams this year.

  1. I'm a little higher on Miami maybe 6-7. They played reasonably well at Duke and caught Clemson playing one of their best games of the season. They also have a win against a very good West VIrginia team. I agree with everything else on the list.
