Georgia Tech AD Discusses Paul Hewitt Dismissal and Future of Basketball Program

Georgia Sports Talk has the audio (right click to download)of Tech Athletic Director Dan Radakovich's press conference discussing the firing of Paul Hewitt and future of the Tech basketball program with the media.

Highlights of Radakovich's comments and Q and A:
-Radkovich discussed firing of Hewitt with school president last week and president concurred
-Remainder of Hewitt's contract will be paid out on a monthly basis for the next five years
-Firing was because of more than just wins and losses
-Eddie Fogler, former Vandy and South Carolina head coach, will assist in coaching search
-Tech AD looking for a coach to energize the fan base
-Radakovich not necessarily looking for certain amount of experience as head coach or assistant
-Tech would like a head coach to be named prior to the Final 4
-Yellow Jackets do not have a "cap" they can pay a new coach
-Tech AD thinks new arena, new practice facility can be selling points for new coach
-Wants new coach to use Final 4 as time to fill out staff
-Ga. Tech AD already has a few names in mind
-Hewitt will earn around $7.2M over the next five years
-Hewitt was not shocked to learn the outcome of Tech's decision
