Blair Walsh Sets UGA, SEC Records Despite Outback Bowl Loss

  • UGA is now 4-4 in OT games with Mark Richt 2-2
  • Georgia is now 26-18-3 in bowl games including 7-4 under Richt
  • Brandon Boykin's 92 yard punt return was a UGA bowl and Outback bowl record
  • Despite his two misses in OT, Blair Walsh set the SEC and UGA record for career points with 412; this ranks 2nd all time in NCAA history
  • Tavarres King set a UGA and Outback bowl record with 205 receiving yards
  • The 318 pass yards yielded by Todd Grantham's defense was the most all season
  • 51 net yards rushing was the lowest output of the season
The Bulldogs begin and end the season with back to back losses, though 10 straight wins came in between.  Georgia beat their four biggest traditional rivals in the same season - Florida, Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Tennessee.   Hard to call that a disappointing season.

Unfortunately, Richt will always be second or third best as has been the case all his life. Scared is NOT the way in the SEC!!! Go BIG or go home...Coach Richt...

good riddance blair walsh. You sucked when it mattered most. Your record tie is a blemish in the UGA record books. You sucked all year. Richt i hope you bow out honorably and stop forcing mediocrity down the throats of the Dawg Nation.
