Mark Richt - Jim Donnan Statements of Greatness

“We’re going to be knocking on the door of the greatest success you can have in college football, and if you knock long enough you’ll eventually break through.” - Mark Richt: January 2012

“I’ve been waiting 55 years to be the head coach of a football team that has this much potential, and I guarantee you that we’re going to get it done.” - Jim Donnan: July 2000

The difference between Richt and Donnan is obvious considering Richt has already proven he can win big at UGA (see 2002-2005, 2007) and has tested talent returning next season and no reason to think more is not on the way.

Still, when coaches make these statements of grandeur it comes back to haunt them more times than not.
