Six years in particular stick out in the history of the league with members coming or going: 1932, 1940, 1964, 1966, 1991, and 2012.
Two former members, Georgia Tech and Tulane still hold claim to some SEC history that extends further than even current members have.
While in the SEC, the Yellow Jackets won five SEC championships (1939, 1943, 1944, 1951, 1952) and the 1952 National Championship. Tech has two more SEC titles than Kentucky, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and South Carolina combined.The History of SEC Realignment
Tulane, too, has as many SEC titles (3) as Kentucky, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and South Carolina combined.
