| Ted Roof should add boost to Georgia Tech recruiting/AJC.com |
Instead of holding a Signing Day event in Atlanta with a review of the signess and Q&A with fans, Georgia Tech broadcast a 1 hour program on ESPN3.com [insert your Paul Johnson didn't want to answer fan questions theories here]. I see the decision to g to a national platform for a NSD event as part of Tech's campaign to recruit more nationally.
Here is a run down of the event. Please excuse my note taking form. If you want to watch the entire hour you can here
Interview with Vad Lee
- talked about his recruiting process, what coaches tell him- said once he committed to GT every other coach started negatively recruiting against GT; goes back to old saying a committment only means everyone else knows who their competition for a prospect is
- Strength and Coaching is a big change from high school to college; the weight room was not his friend in high school
- Vad will be competing with Justin Thomas for the starting QB job in Spring Practice
Liam Klein - Director of Player Personnel
- started with 1200 names for class of 2013- check grades, call high school coaches, talk to parents, friends to find the right fit
- academic requirements is the first hurdle for prospective student-athletes
Paul Johnson Interview
- is excited about next year- 15/16 starters back; will have more seniors than in previous years
- take momentum from last half and build on it is key for the offseason

- Buzz has a gregarious personality in his interviews
